The Buccaneers start their five-game road trip taking on the defending NFC champs in Los Angeles on Sunday. Check out how to watch and listen to the game, which kicks off at 1:05 p.m. PT, 4:05 p.m. ET.
It's here. The dreaded five-game road trip where the Bucs won't see the inside of Raymond James Stadium until November 10. It's fine. We're fine. Everything's fine (insert cartoon dog in a burning room .gif).
But seriously, this is the hand the Bucs were dealt and they're kicking it off by taking on the defending NFC Champion Los Angeles Rams in the Coliseum. Talk about starting fast.
"Obviously, we have a heck of an opponent this Sunday," Head Coach Bruce Arians said. "I think when you start talking about the Rams, you start with Aaron Donald, and then Todd Gurley and all the rest of the players they have – but I think they have one of the best special teams units in the last four or five [years] since Bones [John Fassel] has been there. They do a great job, so it's all three phases. It's going to be a great challenge and I look forward to it."
The Buccaneer offense will be facing the league's third-best defense, led by the aforementioned Aaron Donald on the defensive front. On the offensive side, the Rams rank one spot ahead of the Bucs in rushing offense behind the effort of Pro Bowl running back Todd Gurley, who has 203 rushing yards on the season. He'll be going against a sixth-ranked rushing defense with the Bucs allowing just 69.7 yards per game on the ground. Tampa Bay's running game, which is a more collaborative effort, has an almost even split between Peyton Barber and Ronald Jones, who have 163 and 164 yards on the season, respectively. Through the air, the Bucs are currently ranked 20th with an average of 239.3 passing yards per game. That ranks two spots ahead of quarterback Jared Goff and the Rams, who have an average of 234.3 passing yards per game. Jameis Winston has the edge in passer rating to with an 85.5 mark to Goff's 84.5.
It will be a major test for the Buccaneers, who will travel 2,158 miles to the west coast for an NFC showdown.
Here's how to watch and listen to the game back here in Tampa. The game will be available on a live stream that can be accessed through the Buccaneers Official App and Yahoo Sports.
